La Jolie Amélie is one of the beauties created by Nini. She is a french young lady who is named after the famous Amélie Poulain played by Audrey Tautou in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain. Amélie loves strolling along the river bank of the Seine on Sunday afternoons. Imagine a young mademoiselle wearing a ribbon on her ponytail stands on the right bank of the Seine smiling at the Eiffel Tower under the sun. The sun shines on the Seine making it beam like a shiny string of white pearls. That's our jolie Amélie.

Meet "Ms Fortune" - this beautiful chinese character "Fu" means blessing, good fortune and good luck! Its is a commonly used character in Chinese celebrations especially during Chinese New Year and new births,birthdays and weddings.

Dear all, sorrie it has been some time since i last posted!! Been a lot on my plate - sort of to say! I promise i try and update a little more often!

This Unique Baroque White Freshwater cultured pearl necklace is a rare one! The pearls is nothing like the usual round shape pearls that you often see, in fact its shaped so special that one would say it even looks like odd peanut shapes!! The colour and skin colour of these pearls are white with a tint of pink light to it, and has a magnificant even shine to the whole bracelet and on each of the pearls!

This necklace is not everyones cup of tea but some will find its shape and uniqueiness a definety must have. This necklace has already got found an owner and a home and its already sold!

She perferred stud backs rather than hooks coz she feels hooks makes her earrings drag down and doesnt look as pretty then on her ear! Fancy a Bunch of GRAPES?

What can one do with 28  pearls of 2mm in size?? Make a bunch of grape's earrings!!!! These earrings really took me a lot of time to make! I spend over 3 hours to make one pair!!!

Firstly i had to pick nice round pearls of 2mm in size and then put open ended loops in to each one. Had to do this for 28 pearls! Then measure the length the earrings will be and cut a piece of silver chain of that length. Next I then slowly put in the small pearls on to different loops of the chain, putting more on the top and gradually reducing the numbers as we move to the bottom of the grape's earrings! The final step is attach them to a 925 sterling silver hooks!! Viola!! Done!!

My flowers and butterflies!

My latest new items are inspired by nature! It quite hard to make a flower out of pearls - as i would have to permanently glue the pearls together to create the flower which i think will ruin the pearls!

So have used a sterling silver flower dangling with a single 7-8mm pearl! In the picture below its a dark lavender pearl - other colours also available! There is also a matching Necklace with this. But the flower is a bit bigger than the earrings, so the pendant stands out more!

My other nature item is Butterfly earrings & butterfly Pendant!
The butterfly looks like its flying as its attached to the pearl from one side - rather than the middle! Matching earrings are also available to match the pendant necklace!

Love Triangles

As i was making one of my latest designs - Earrings.... i really couldnt think of a name for them!
They were not square, not circle and not not a proper triangle! So i just decided not to name them yet!

I showed them to a close friend of mine and asked her for a name suggestion - she immediately came up with a very good name " Love Triangles"!! Perfect!! and i think it suits well - since the triangle is more a curved triangle.. so its like a triangle but not with sharp edges and needs to be handled with love!! Great suggestion!! thank you dear!!

These earrings again are quite simple - made of 925 sterling silver curvy hollow triangle designs and accompanied with 7mm White ( other pearl colours also available) Freshwater cultured pearls! Hooks are also 925 sterling silver - so suitable for sensitive ears!

Finally feels like summer is here! The sun is out and the sky is a lovely blue colour with white fluffy clouds! But its really hot! around 32degrees +!!!! But still creates a much better mood than when its dull and raining!!

Today i like to introduce my new " petite" spiral silver ball pearl earrings! The pearl is 4mm dangling on a silvery ball which is engraved with spiral patterns. The size of the silvery ball is quite small - just a little bit bigger than a "green pea". This is a more petite style - simple but elegant!

Like the cake charms, i found these very cute silver plated charms! One is a pink strappy sandal shoe with little green, pink and blue crystals on it. The only one is a little pink handbag with small flower pattern on it. I put these two on a white cultured freshwater pearl bracelet. The bracelet is 7.5 inches long and closed with a lobster clasp. These charms on the bracelet makes the white pearl braclet less formal, and more casual and is very trendy looking! Very stylish & fashionable!

Have been busy for the past few days!! have added a lot of new items but not enough time to upload on the website! I share some here with you first!! I bought these " dancing looking" 925 sterling silver star fish pieces a few weeks back... i finally got time to make them in to something! They look like " sparkling shiny star fishes" with dangling pearls on them! i made a pair in orange, lavender and white freshwater cultured pearls! Rainy day ~~ more little raindrops collection

Recently its been a miserable day in Hongkong! Raining and raining non stop!!
But then this goes well with my " little raindrop collection"!
Over the weekend, got more time to finish off and post up my latest addition to the little raindrop collection!

Now we have orange raindrops ( rice pearls) earrings, light pink, white and orange Raindrops earrings the longer version. All can have matching bracelets and necklaces - tailor made!

On a slightly different note, i was very touched today as i was out crossing the street, it started to rain really really heavily ( no surprise) and being the naive me, i didnt have my umbrella with me! As i was under this bridge crossing - waiting for the lights to change and already being half wet! and this really nice " british western - old lady in her 50s" invited me to share her small umbrella with her! She walked me to the shopping mall where its covered and where i had to go then she left! I will prob never see her again but there are nice people out there! Such a small act of kindness but has made my day! thank you!

Yesterday i also finally made something with my "cakes charms"!! I have added the chocolate cake and slice of strawberry cake charms to a pure white freshwater pearl bracelet! Its quite girlie and cute! Karene was the first one to see it and took the first picture of the item for me! She modelled it for me!!!

Cant wait to share with you my latest pieces i bought today! Two charms!! They are just soo cute! its a slice of strawberry cake and a whole round Chocolate cake piece made out of procelain material. I thought it was so cute - i had to buy it and make something out of them! I am thinking maybe dangling on a bracelet or a necklace!!
it will be more of a girlie and cute line!!

Weekend was pretty relaxing as went on a short trip!!

Sitting under the sun and palm trees in a relaxing resort! V nice! Giving me time to think and dream about new styles and designs!

Blue skies and white fluffy clouds - and a swimming pool and a cocktail! Cant ask for much more than this!!

I managed to find time to make 1-2 items! This item is a cross pendant + 925 sterling silver necklace!

The pendant is made up of 6 white coin freshwater cultured pearls! It is glued together and has a pin adjoining them, making it very secure!

I find this design - simple but elegant! Previously I made Cross earrings with dangling pearls - so heres a pendant to match! I havent had time to ask my team members to take better photos of it yet...... but heres it is to share with you guys first!!

Heres my latest packaging - just came in the door fresh from the printers!!

Will keep the earrings and other jewellery nice and tiny and easy to store! Also allows the customers to see the earrings thur the clear bags!! Each item will be wrapped up in pink bags and also put inside a Pink fancy paper bag - all ready to give as a gift to a loved one or even to treat yourself!!

Active Blogging time!

Its been almost 3 months since i last posted in here, then today i posted 3 new posts!! Thats a record! Recently i have created many new items - that havent been uploaded to the website yet! must do that very soon!!

One of the latest items i quite like and wear alot myself is the 9-10mm huge black baroque freshwater cultured pearl necklace! Its not exactly black - but peacock blue/black/green in colour - so sort of shiny when you wear it! The size of it makes it stunning and sort of stands out! Its not 100% round which gives it even more of the uniqueness! I fell in love with it when i saw the strands in the shop and had to buy some to make SOMETHING nice out of them! This is the first time i have made a design using such big pearls! i have to say its very pretty - not very outdated or suited for posh old ladies only!! That was my original thought!

Heres the necklace and a pair of 925 sterling silver dangling earrings using these Black Baroque Pearls!! The pearls are knotted again every 6 pearls to ensure extra security and then closed firmly using a 925 sterling silver lobster clasp!

So touched and really made my day! One of my inspirational friends really loves my designs and is a great supporter! She has bought many pieces of jewellery from me and one of the items that she ADORES is the " Little Raindrops collection".

Little Raindrops - White Earrings

This is made of 4mm size white rice pearls shaped all stringed up together. She purchased the necklace and a pair of matching earrings to go together. It can be worn causually or formally depending on how u mix and match yr clothes! it suits her very well as she is very elegant and enjoys simple but pretty styles matched with different accessories! But infact she is actually very stylish too and creative with her styles and clothing!

how did it all begin??

I dont think i really shared deeply with many of you how i became a handmade jewellery designer!! I am sure many have asked and i properly responded with 1-2 lines only!! I decided to share it all with you - forever..... as i have left a piece on this - in my Profile but here it is also...

So how did i start making handmade jewellery?

My mum had bought many strands of white pearls from a wholesaler! We kept bringing it to jewellery shops to get it properly string and designed. The people there kept coming back with simple, plain and similar designs and was charging alot for the labour, design and clasps! After having them specially make around 3-4 plain pearl necklaces - all looking the same, i thought this is just a waste of money! so i started to look in to it myself and since when i was young I took lessons in making jewellery, i thought i give it a go!

I started to mix and match different colours pearls together, different weaving patterns and made necklaces, bracelets. After a while i thought hey mabye some earrings to match them, then i started off my earrings journey and have not turned back! after playing around with pearls, i then started to look at gemstones, crystals and pure sterling silver pieces! Of coz with out saying i jumped from making one item to an other! Now i have necklaces, bracelets, earrings, hair accessories, pendants and keyrings collections!

so this is how it all started.......... and this is where my journey and dream has began!

I never dreamt i would design my own jewellery and never dreamt of every sharing any of my handmade pieces with anyone! But now this dream has come true - and i am so happy to see you all enjoy my designs and actually wear my jewellery!

Stud Collection!!

Wah.. its been a while! Been busy with flying around.. and sleeping!
So i am back now.. my little workshop!

the past week has been on stud earrings! something small but elegant!

i found flowers are very pretty as studs, but prob a bit girlie for some and a bit young for perhaps myself!! But everyone has different tastes so here it is..

Also made some simple white and black Pearl studs with 925 sterling silver!
Think every girls has to have a pair of these in their life time if not more than 1 pair!!

Loop Earrings & Pearl Sliding Hair Pins!!!

The weekend was spend mainly on making new items and updating online the items!

Latest items includes round loops with 3mm and 8mm White pearls dangling on the loop! A more trendy way to mix pearls together!
I notice many girls now adays like to wear big loop earrings with lots of items dangling on it! I wasn't too adventurous and didn't add too many bits and pieces to start off my first round spiral earrings! Instead just 3 pearls to bring out the trendiness and yet the elegant of pearls! Trying to kill two birds with one stones! :)
Did a similar pair of these loops with Orange and White pearls to create some contrast in colour! Personally i am not this "trendy" person and wear loop earrings but got to expand the " market range"!

The other creation i am proud of this weekend is --- new pearl collection hair sliding pins!!

First one is : 14 (3mm) white pearls knitted carefully in a zig zag pattern on to a "15 teeth" sliding pin. I had to re do this a few times in order to get the pattern perfectly and the pearls in the right place!
and i had to knot it every now and then to ensure it doesn't all unwind in one go! Item was finished and i must say. i was proud of it! it was SO pretty, very suitable for wedding or ball or formal events!
I knotted the pearls on rather than glue them on to the pin coz didn't want to ruin the pearls on the clip and once its glued its permanent fixed. Also if knotted together first the chance of falling off is much slimer!

To accompany the sliding hair pin, i made two "singlet" pearl hair pin, one Lavender and one White. The simply one pearl on the end of the hair pin makes its very elegant and lady like". These 'one' pearls had to be glued on to ensure it stays in place, as its just one pearl on its own!

I think starting any business is very hard but with many great friends to support and sharing their opinions with me, i think its truly a blessing! My usual style i would have given up already by now! So many thanks for all your ideas, support and sales to keep this little workshop afloat......... Really appreciate it!! ...............Thank YOU!!

Taking pics & Updating Website Day!!

Most of the day was spent updating photos and taking photos!
Website work is a lot of maintenance! making an item is easy when you have ideas and inspirations, its the "after work" that takes a long time! Work that has to be done to share the item but not always 100% enjoyable!!

But the good news is after a few hours, i managed to upload 10 new pairs of earrings online and on to the Fan club! Pretty happy with that! Hopefully more time and can upload more this weekend!

Tomorrow i want to design some smaller and shorter earrings, like studs but maybe dangling ones! An other friend suggested some people like more simple " single item" earrings, not always dangling and very trendy ones! Good suggestion too, despite i already have a few simple, shorter designs but no harm in created more designs along this idea! Thanks again to another good friend for sharing her opinions and thinkings with me!

Pure Sterling Silver items & Flower Pearls Earrings

Yesterday was a busy day for my little workshop!

Had lots of ideas and inspirations and wanted to try them all out! Really wanted to create something beautiful that others would like too!

Firstly, instead of just always doing pearls, i created some pure 925 sterling silver earrings - such as Star earrings with silver frills- chains dangling from below the star. This was actually very nice and more trendy! Did similar items with Sterling Silver " BIG round hollow balls - engraved with hearts and stars pattern" - again with the chains dangling from the oval ball..

Next i wanted to create a flower type earring but with the pearl being the flower. This was made with a white pearl as the flower, wrapped with silver petals and then with silver chain dangling from the pearl! It was very pretty, simple design but with a bit of movement from the chains! Perfect! I again tried this similar style flower pearl but instead of using silver chains, i used a simple silver leaf to hang from the bottom of the pearl!

I tried again to think of different designs for the cross earrings, but wasnt too successful......... Tried one different design, where i use much smaller pearls to hang from the crosses - 3 diff directions, somehow i am not too sure if its that nice! need 2nd opinion!

Got too tired........... slept before midnite for a change!!

Started making star earrings dangling with white pearls. The star itself is quite big and very silver in colour, dangling with a single 8mm white freshwater pearl........ Creates a very trendy fashionable piece of jewellery..

an other item i started to make is... small silver crowns on silver chain dangling with a pearl at the bottom, more elegant and simple... Pearl colour varies from white, black and orange!

Also made these very cute sterling silver butterfly dangling earrings with 3mm white pearls. they are more petite in style and very girlie and feminine!
also made with pink pearls.......

all 925 Sterling silver earrings and items! Hooks are sterling silver and suitable for sensitive ears!

New "Cross" Line........

A few weeks back a sweet young girl - suggested to me i should make some acessories with cross in it and that would create more interest for her! That inspired me to venture in to the "cross" world.
In addition, there are my christians and catholics in HK, so its not such a bad idea at all! So thank you to my dear friend! Very good idea indeed!

At the weekend, i ventured out to buy some sterling silver cross materials...... theres many different types, some more holy than others... in the end, i picked a more trendy cross where i think non religious people will wear too! its a silver cross but more roundly curved and has a slit in the opening of the cross.

But the tricky thing with crosses, its very hard to add additional accessories to it, with out covering up the style of the cross! The only i could think of was pearls dangling from the cross or of coz on its own, just a pair of sterling silver cross earrings which then its just ordinary!

So..... my first pair of cross earrings has a White 8mm Freshwater pearl danging to the bottom of the cross. I later tried this with lavender and orange colour pearls. Result wise, isnt bad, quite trendy and not 100% religious, suitable for everyone!

But of coz my perceptions are different to others.. so got to see for yourself -

My first set of hair creations!

Have decided to start a blog to share my creations and ideas with you and myself!!!

"My first finished products for Hair accessories" - Dark Pink Flowers with pearls

I have made many different attempts at making hair accessories but i never finished it fully until yesterday nite! At around 12 midnight, inspirations came and I started to make flowers related items.

I feel flowers are very girlie and cute and when accompanied with pearls, it brings out the elegance and classy style of the flowers and pearls together! Flowers alone are more targeted for younger girls while the pearls bring it to a different level and brings out a more feminine side and gracefulness side suitable different ages of women!

Made my first Dark pink ceramic Rose hair clip - decorated with four 9mm and two 7mm white freshwater pearls. I have yellow, white and pink and dark deep pink flowers but i chose the deep pink one to try first. The reason for this is because the dark colour of the deep pink contrasts nicely against the white white pearls! Making the flower stand out but with the pearls highlighting in the background! Different sizes of pearls from 9mm to 7mm creates a subtle slope effect, like small steps of a stage.

I made a smaller white flower with pink and green leaves (size of a HKD 0.50 cent coin) pin and also a Medium size Pink flower pin also!

Both i found are very girlie and cute! Quite suitable to wear on coats/jackets.
